To my mind, the best thing about selling records is having an endless supply of new music to discover and share. Since starting the Vinyl Records Inc, the collection of records I have at my fingertips has increased tenfold – jealous much? Just kidding. Through countless hours spent grading, pricing and otherwise digging through piles of records, I’ve made quite a few new discoveries. While I certainly don’t have time to account for all of those discoveries, I want to share some highlights so that you can enjoy them, too! Recording in the 70s on the People label, Collins worked with James brown and used his backing band, the jbs, on many of these recordings. Sharon Jones and the dap Kings fans would be wise to dive into her discography.
